Sudanese club Al-Merrikh defeated Zambia’s Power Dynamos 1–0 in their opening match of the preliminary round of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
The victory at Rwanda’s capital, Kigali, came courtesy of a goal scored by Bashir Bangoura, giving Al-Merrikh a valuable advantage ahead of the return leg.
