Kuala Lumpur (Nabaa Sudan) – Governor of Darfur Region Minni Arko Minawi held talks with Malaysian Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad on strengthening health and humanitarian cooperation and supporting Sudan’s healthcare sector, particularly in the Darfur region.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Malaysia–Sudan Conference on Education and Humanitarian Recovery in Kuala Lumpur.
The Malaysian minister reaffirmed his country’s commitment to continuing humanitarian assistance and supporting mobile health centre projects to reach areas and settlements hosting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and provide essential medical services.
Minawi praised Malaysia’s support, expressing his hope that the understandings reached would be translated into practical partnerships and projects that would help alleviate suffering and improve healthcare services in Darfur.
