The committee mandated to initiate and pursue international legal proceedings against the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia and its backers convened on Thursday under the chairmanship of Minister of Justice Dr. Abdullah Mohamed Dirif.

The committee’s rapporteur, Public Prosecutor of Sudan Alaa El-Din Ahmed Al-Sayid, said discussions advanced legal pathways for prosecuting individuals and states backing the militia. He added that subcommittees have been formed to collect and scrutinize evidence, assess its legal standing, and determine appropriate litigation tracks. These subcommittees will continue their work before submitting findings for final approval.

Committee member and Director of the Global Center for Political and Strategic Studies, Dr. Abdel-Aziz Nour Osher, stated that the meeting extensively reviewed all available legal avenues, evidence, and opportunities to advance the national objective. He confirmed that work will continue until final legal memoranda are completed for submission before regional and international courts.
