Nabaa Sudan – According to press reports citing sources, Ethiopian intelligence has launched an investigation into the disappearance of trailer trucks suspected of carrying drones en route to the city of Assosa, ahead of their transfer to the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Sudan.
According to the leaked information, the shipment arrived via a domestic airport from one of the airports in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The trucks then disappeared under mysterious circumstances before reaching their destination, prompting senior Ethiopian intelligence officers to travel to Assosa to follow up on the investigation, amid speculation that the shipment may have fallen into the hands of Fano forces.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Fano forces released a video which they said documented clashes with an Ethiopian army force tasked with guarding trucks carrying weapons bound for the RSF militia in Sudan. They said the trucks had been completely burned.
The outcome of the Ethiopian investigation remains unclear, and no official confirmation has been issued regarding the nature of the shipment or the party behind its transportation.
