El-Alamein, (Nabaa Sudan) – The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) stressed the importance of strengthening African coordination and collective action to prevent conflicts, support peacebuilding efforts and achieve sustainable regional stability.
It said its delegation participated on the sidelines of the African Union Summit in El-Alamein in activities aimed at strengthening the collective peace and security architecture, including a media platform for regional economic communities and the exchange of expertise and knowledge among them, as well as cooperation with the African Standby Force.
IGAD affirmed that African-led cooperation and regional integration are key pillars for building and sustaining peace across the continent.
