London, (Nabaa Sudan) – Chairman of the Democratic Bloc Alliance, Jaafar Al-Sadig Al-Mirghani, said the April 15 war was, in reality, a rebellion carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on April 13 in a failed coup attempt, which, after its failure, turned into a war against civilians.
Speaking during a dialogue session organized by the Democratic Unionist Party (Origin) in the United Kingdom and Ireland in London, Al-Mirghani said Khartoum had returned as the country’s capital, pointing to the return of Khartoum, Al-Gezira, Sennar, and areas in North Kordofan, and affirming that more than five million displaced people had returned to their homes.
He said the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye, and Pakistan had affirmed their support for legitimate state institutions, rejection of parallel entities, and opposition to the flow of weapons, mercenaries, and foreign fighters into Sudan.
Al-Mirghani stressed that the RSF militia is not a party to political dialogue, but rather a party to the ceasefire and disarmament process, affirming that the army is the pillar of the state and the protector of its unity, sovereignty, and independence.
He said the success of Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue depends on ending the war and ensuring the participation of Sudanese abroad, internally displaced persons (IDPs), refugees, and migrants, adding that the dialogue should culminate in a constitutional conference and elections, rather than power-sharing and the division of seats.
