Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Saif Al-Nasr Al-Tijani Haroun, met with Khartoum State Wali, Ahmed Othman Hamza, to discuss plans for rehabilitating roads, bridges, and transport systems in the state, as part of post-war reconstruction and environmental restoration efforts.
The minister affirmed that the plan includes repairing cracked roads according to international standards and accelerating the implementation of strategic projects.
The Wali highlighted the importance of maintaining the Halfaya and Shambat bridges to support the movement of citizens and federal institutions, calling on national companies to participate in rehabilitation and maintenance efforts.
He also emphasized the role of the local train project in alleviating traffic congestion and the need to relaunch it more effectively, affirming continued coordination between the ministry and the state government to improve infrastructure and transport services.
