The Sudanese Dialogue Preparatory Committee has announced that it has completed preparations to begin engaging with various political and societal groups inside and outside Sudan, as well as regional and international actors, in preparation for launching an inclusive Sudanese dialogue.

The committee’s official spokesperson, journalist Othman Mirghani, said the committee would conduct extensive consultations with political and societal forces in the coming period to hear their views and positions and build common ground for dialogue.

Mirghani revealed that a meeting is expected to be held this week with the Quintet Mechanism concerned with the Sudan file, comprising the United Nations, African Union, European Union, League of Arab States and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), to discuss the committee’s vision and ways of coordinating efforts to support an inclusive political process.

He affirmed that the dialogue aims to reach broad national understandings with the participation of various political and societal forces, without exclusion.
