A government official reported that the only environmental laboratory in Khartoum State, specialized in testing soil and water and measuring air pollution and radiation, has completely ceased operations after being targeted by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
The cost of rehabilitation is estimated at around $500,000. The laboratory’s director, Um Al-Khair Mukhtar Abdullah, told Sudan Tribune on Saturday that the building was extensively destroyed and set on fire, with infrastructure, glassware, and furniture damaged, and the remaining equipment stolen.
