Al-Gadharef hosted the Seventh Scientific Oncology Conference, organized by Al-Sharq Oncology Hospital, focusing on urinary tract cancers with the participation of doctors from across Sudan and abroad.

The hospital’s Deputy Director, Dr. Jehan Abdel-Gadir, emphasized the importance of scientific conferences in advancing medical research, strengthening the capabilities of healthcare professionals, and improving diagnosis and treatment. She also noted that the hospital provides free treatment services to cancer patients.

Dr. Khater Youssef, meanwhile, highlighted the conference’s importance in supporting medical advancement, announcing that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has included the establishment of Al-Sharq Radiotherapy Center in the second phase of its plan to rebuild treatment centers.

The conference discussed a number of papers on cancers of the urinary tract, prostate, kidneys and bladder. Participants issued several recommendations, including strengthening public awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and providing psychological support for patients.
