Sudan’s Foreign Minister, Mohi-Eddin Salem, received Karl Skau, Acting Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), with the meeting focusing on continued cooperation and coordination to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance to people in need across Sudan.

The minister urged the WFP to shift toward supporting reconstruction, capacity building, livelihood projects and self-reliance, in addition to supporting smallholder farmers, production and supply chains, and school feeding programmes.

Skau reaffirmed the WFP’s desire to continue providing humanitarian assistance and to contribute to reconstruction efforts, while supporting recovery initiatives and projects aimed at promoting self-reliance.
