Central Bank of Sudan Proposes Establishment of Supreme Council ‎for Exports

Khartoum, Nabaa Sudan – The Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) held a ‎high-level meeting chaired by Governor Amna Mirghani Hassan Al-Tom ‎to discuss export proceeds, the challenges facing the export sector, ‎and the efforts required to strengthen its contribution to the national ‎economy and generate foreign exchange resources.‎

During the meeting, the Bank presented a strategic vision for ‎establishing a Supreme Council for Exports, aimed at moving away ‎from fragmented, piecemeal solutions towards an integrated national ‎institutional framework responsible for coordinating the various stages ‎of the export process and addressing the challenges facing the sector.‎

The vision includes linking production and financing stages with ‎transport, storage, insurance, banking and customs procedures, ‎culminating in international marketing and the repatriation of export ‎proceeds. This is intended to improve the management of the export ‎portfolio, strengthen coordination among relevant entities, and ‎support efforts to rebuild economic institutions and structures.‎
